Marilyn is the former School Board trustee for Ward 1 and 2, she was the Chair of the Board in her final year.
She challenges Shaun Collier for his seat.

Marilyn Crawford is a politician who has served Ajax & the Durham Board of Education very well as a trustee. The next step will be to win the election & represent the people of Ward 1. Marilyn will beat Shaun Collier in the Oct 25 municipal election. Let the race begin.

Gotta agree with Michael. Marilyn will take the seat and Ward 1 will finally get some real representation

Good for Marilyn. I think she will make a fine candidate. As long as no others run against Shaun that would split the anti-Collier or undecided votes, she has a good chance. Shaun has not really changed anything about the way he does things, but the residents of Ward 1 do have to wake up and pay attention to what is going on.

Is she any relation to Scott Crawford?.
I’m glad to see more candidates running for the upcoming election. I’m not sure whether the residents of Ward1 really know who she is (besides the ones who are involved in the education system). I would strongly suggest she starts knocking on doors soon. I remember candidates running in my ward and very few made the effort to send out flyers or knock on my door. I didn’t know who they were or what they stood for. It’s hard to vote for somebody when you know nothing about them.
Is she related? not sure. Will it help or hurt?

It is about time that Ward 1 had some real represenation. She just needs to get out and knock on some doors. Shaun has not done anything for ward 1 - he won’t even return a phone call when there is an issue. I for one am thrilled to see Crawford run against him and hope and pray she wins!!
